Eva Elisa Fabbris (1979) holds the position of Director at the Madre Museum in Naples, where, in July 2023, she inaugurated an exhibition dedicated to Kazuko Miyamoto, curated by her.
With a Ph.D. in Humanities, she worked in curatorial departments at Fondazione Prada, Milan (2016-23); Galleria Civica di Trento (2009); Museion, Bolzano (2008-09). As an independent curator, she curated exhibitions in Italian and European institutions, including Madre Museum, where in 2021 she co-curated Diego Marcon. The Parents’ Room with Andrea Viliani; Fondazione Arnaldo Pomodoro, Milan; the Cloisters of Sant’Eustorgio, Milan; Triennale di Milano; Fondazione Morra, Naples; Nouveau Musée National de Monaco; and Galerie de l’erg, Brussels.
She holds a teaching position at NABA, Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti, Milan, and has given lectures and conversations at various institutions, including Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris; Daimler Foundation, Berlin; HEAD, Haute école d'art et de design, Geneva; KHiO, Oslo National Academy of the Arts; GAM, Galleria d'Arte Moderna, Turin, and several Italian universities.
She has collaborated with various contemporary art magazines, including Mousse Magazine, Cura, and Flash Art. She serves as an editor for artist monographs, including Diego Marcon (Lenz, 2021), Alessandro Pessoli (Lenz, 2021), Yervant Gianikian and Angela Ricci Lucchi (Humboldt Books, 2017), and Paul Sietsema (Mousse Publishing, 2016).
Her research focuses on figures and moments of critical heterodoxy in Modernism, as exemplified by her studies on Marcel Duchamp’s curatorial experience, her historiographical work on Gene R. Swenson, and her research on pataphysics, which won the 10th edition of the Italian Council in 2021
