THE (FUTURE) MUSEUM AS A SITE OF HOPE!

The museum of the future is more than the sum of its exhibitions: it is a place that is already increasingly concerned with the exchange of being human in the currently developing world. Here, at the interface of the individual, nature and technology, the principles of the future should be negotiated together. How can we make the museum more hospitable to forward-looking needs and thoughts of hope?

What does a space of hope mean for an art institution? How is hope connected to a space? How can the museum of the future be transformed into a hub for worldbuilding ideas and curiosity?

Against the backdrop of two similar institutional visions and yet very different bodies, MUSEION and EKKM break down their existing geographical and cultural boundaries and consciously explore the question of our “future spaces of hope” together and collaboratively. In a co-developed workshop, we invite you to explore ways to break the canonic tradition of museum experiences and conventional forms of participation. Together, we will join in a feel-good and relaxed dialogue to create a multi-voiced practical output with participating museum experts.
