"Guardiani 21" is a collective action which involves the recomposition of a cedar tree at the Calvanese Nursery in Naples. The tree will be placed vertically, at first by the single artist, who will then be joined by participants of the action. “Guardiani 21” recalls ancient animist rituals, where nature is at the center.
The cedar tree fell and was divided and numbered in 30 cm logs which have then been entrusted to guardians. These guardians are interconnected via a blog (www.guardiani21.com) with the aim of creating an arts collective through nature.
In the blog, the guardians can exchange suggestions on the recomposition of the tree for future collective actions potentially set all around the world.
